The Backyard Bistro opened its doors in November 2004, in Piqua, Ohio. Unlike most restaurants, “The Bistro" as it is called, was formed as a non-profit social enterprise. Our first goal was to provide guests with the best, in-house prepared, high-quality food possible. A close second is our belief in charitable giving. Therefore, each year donations from the Backyard Bistro are given to a local organization that supports programs for children, youth and older adults. Now, as we transition into a new venue, the Bistro continues to make those same donations and one of our benefactors is the Council on Rural Services. You can learn more about their community contributions at www.councilonruralservices.org. In 2013, A Learning Place needed a venue that could handle 40-60 guests in a private atmosphere. After reviewing several options we decided to transition the Bistro into a full time meeting facility.
